So just to keep everyone updated... I had a second Physical Therapy appt. yesterday and my horrible shin/leg pain turns out to be caused from...are you ready...drum roll....MY CALVE MUSCLE!! My amazing bestest PT guy ever in the world Troy told me that the pain I am having is because my calf muscle is so tight and knotted up that when I run I can get a full range of motion in the heel to toe sense so my leg was compensating for the lack of motion by rolling the arch of my foot downward and causing me to utilize a different muscle that should be used during running HENCE the PAIN!!! SOO he did some Myofasical massage to work out the muscle and holy crap it was amazing how much range I got back once the muscle was loose...
So he should be some stretches to help keep it loose and some to do before I run and after I am done running to hopefully avoid the pain.. Which is great because my race is only 15 days away!! I do have to keep going to see him so that he can keep the muscle loose to help my leg heal and prevent further injury!!

Back in Action
Hideeho!! I know all of you have probably been wondering how my leg is doing well its..ok..ya just ok. I went to my PT and they examined me did all these tests and determined that they think I have a tendinitis of the calf muscle...yeah SUCK!! Well they told me to take it easy and not doing anything that would aggravate it..blah blah blah.. well I am in the beginning stages of P90X and I was not about to "take it easy" I started this challenge and I am going to do it no matter what!
Well as you would guess, it hurt like crazy all last week but this week is my recovery week so the workouts aren't as intense and my leg feels good. It isn't hurting to much and I can make it through my work outs!! My dad bought me a shin protector compressor thingy. It supposed to give some support to the muscle and generate some heat to keep the muscle loose. It seems to be helping a bit so that's cool.
Now the true test is to go running again. I haven't ran since that Thursday. I still did all my P90X workouts but left off the running. So we will see how that goes. If it will stop raining for 5 mins for me to get outside to run that would be great but that's a hit or miss it has down poured for the last week straight and I only have 17 more days till my first 5k.
SO ANYWAY!! New news is that starting May 1st I will be insane! ...yep that right insane! I start insanity wish me luck on that OHH BOY!!
Also on May 1st starts my coach Kati and her fellow Creators of the Bombshell Dynasty Support Group will be doing a SUMMER SLIM DOWN CHALLENGE!! If you click the summer slim down link it gives all the details of the challenge. I can not wait they will be giving away prizes to the best transformations!! I hope I can make it happen!!!

Life kinda sucks!!
Well peeps....Today is DAY 17 of P90X for me! LOVIN IT BTW!! But Life strikes again, I have a 5k coming up for anyone who didn't know. It is May 14th and I am so excited for it!! I went running on Thursday last week the first time I have ran since the beginning of Feb. and I ran 1.2 miles in 20 mins not bad for just getting back into it. AND here is where tragedy hits. I warmed up and stretched for about 10 mins and then went and ran 1.2 miles (well run/walk) and I came back and did KenpoX (it was kenpo day) and was great everything was awesome but Friday night I started having a pain in my leg in the shin area but kinda of to the side so I rested it.
Then Sat. I worked out and did Chest and Back (which I did all my push ups without being on my knees!!) and I noticed my left leg was swollen and hurt So I iced it that night and went to bed I felt amazing Sun. Until I tried to do Plyometrics. I got 20mins into it and I could barley put weight on my leg it hurt so bad so I had to stop I was BAD! SO I Iced it some more and after a while it was ok and then I put heat on it at night....
AND it still hurts!!!!!!! So I called and made an appt. with my PT guy hoping he can help a bit, but I have to get back into it I have to train for my run and I don't want to stop P90X so I did my workout today which was shoulders and arms and was fine(not much leg working here) but I have legs and back coming up so will see I guess! I cant give up!
Part of me wants to push through the pain but part of me is saying bad idea bad idea! So I don't know what to do. I decided since I couldn't finish Plyo yesterday on Friday I will do plyo and not to stretch X. And just bust it out this week before the recovery week. Wish me luck!

So many new things going on!
I know I said I was going to post my measurements and weight Monday and I just have been so busy I forgot. Well I did change my little weight ticker at the top of the page but just to actually write it out my first official week of P90X I lost 1.6 lbs. YAY ME! I am hoping this will be a regular trend because if I can lose around 1-2 lbs a week I will be down between 12-24 lbs and that will put me at a weight between 167-179 which I would be ok with I be sooo happy with 167 but I will do my best and forget the rest and be the end of summer I should be 160 for sure!!
Also I order the Shakeology Cleanse from my wonderful awesome Beachbody coach Kati Henifner. The shakeology cleanse is all described here. I'm so excited to try it and see how it works for my I have the rest of this week and next week before I can start it because I want to do the cleanse during the recovery week of P90X. I also got a sample of the chocolate shakeology and OMG it was amazing!!
Another thing going on is that my first ever 5K race is coming up fast I have 30days till I have to be ready oh geez!! I have been training hard with P90X I forgot about the race so I have to combine my race training with my P90X YEAH DOUBLE WHAMY!!! Also I joined a Summer Volleyball team and our first game is the first week of May so I have to practice for that as well!! OH GEEZ!! I am swamped!!
I weigh in again on Sat. so I will post my result of the second week of P90X then!! Let see a big loss yeah for big loss!!!

I really need to tighten up a bit more...
Well today is Day 6 of my P90X journey and I feel like I am doing ok. The work outs are hard but fun. I did the Kenpo X DVD today and I found it really really really hard. I couldn't get the moves down I am not coordinated enough but I tried my best I don't feel like I got enough out of it so When I get home I will do something else that I know I can do until I get better.
Other then that I just need to tighten up some areas and make more of a effort to do certain things. I made all my food and have been eating well I just need to really mark down my calories because some times I may not eat all the food I have. For example yesterday I had a tuna salad and lettuce and soup but I could finish the lettuce I ate 1c. when I was supposed to eat 2c. I know that sounds silly but those calories matter and I really need to record it so I know that I am getting the right amount of calories a day.
I need to tighten up on my workouts also for example yesterday was legs and back and AB ripper X. Well I got up early and did legs and back and was going to do AB ripper when I got home but I had a eye doctor appt. and had to buy new shoes to workout in and make my food for the next two days. When I finished everything it was 9pm I was sooo tired I went to bed. I didn't do ab ripper sooo I am slightly disappointed, but I need to smooth out these rough edges and make it work!!
I will post this weeks results weight and measurements on Monday as normal pray there is change!!! I really need the boost of motivation after these last 3 messed up weeks. I am also going to be doing the Cleanse again a bit modified to make sure I can fuel the P90X workouts but for real this time either this week or next not sure yet but I think it will help jump start and reformulate my metabolism. Then I will start right back up with the phase one plan right where I left off.

Times are a changing!
Today I feel....great...energized...excited...and determined!! Sorry its a few days late but I wanted to post on Sat. to let you know what all is going on with my P90X. But I will start today instead sooo... Sat. April 2, 2011 was my official start day of the P90X.
It was good, I was really surprised how good the food was!! Every diet or plan I have been on had nasty somewhat ok food, the kind that when you eating it all you can think about is how you rather have this or rather have that, then you are still hungry after your done because it wasn't appetizing and you want some thing good, well this food which in reality is the same as the "diet food" but prepare and combined in the right way is amazing!!!!
For example P90X has a Red Pepper Soup that you can eat certain days and I hate peppers HATE them. There are only a few veggies I don't like and that is one of them any kind of pepper=nasty. But the Red Pepper Soup is roasted red peppers, onion, celery, tomato's and other spices it is amazing, maybe because it is pureed and not a chunky soup where I can see it all or maybe the combo of flavors are just right..idk..but it was great, I think I am going to make it and use it as a pasta sauce for my husband and he wont know what he is eating and he will get more veggies YEAHHH MEE and THANK YOU TONY!! Also I had made the shrimp stir fry it was great I would have never thought of combining the ingredients they way they do the ginger and garlic (I love to cook but Suck and making my own things I don't have the knowledge of how to combine things or what to combine or what things taste like I had never used ginger before this. But I got some ideas now!!)
So I tried to make all my food in advance so I wouldn't get caught in a situation where I wouldn't have time or something to cook, and then end up eating the wrong things. So I made my Chicken Salad, Red Pepper Soup, Vegetable Soup, Homemade Protein bars (courtesy of my Beach body coach Kati) Cooked Chicken for all the different recipes and tomorrow I plan on making my Tuna salad, and miso soup in advance of the end of the week!! SOOO excited to try those!!
As for the workouts...all I have to say is HOLY CRAPOLIE!!! They are crazy!! I started on Sat. with the chest and back which was great I didn't have a chin up bar but I used the bands which still worked( my dad bought me a chin up bar for my birthday which isn't till tomorrow but he gave it to me yesterday so I could use it next time along with 8 and 10lbs weights !! awesome!! So I was sooo hyper after the chest and back workout it was amazing I wasn't sore till the next day but it is a good sore!!
Sunday I had plyometrics which was INTENSE. I did my best and forgot the rest lol but next time I will try to do better!! It was very hard for me so I modified some of the moves they way they showed to modify them and and some points I had to stop a few seconds early not much 2-5 secs at the most. The only one I changed myself was this one where you stand on one leg and hop in a hot cross patter front,back,side, side. I get easily hurt in my shins and I hopped once and had to change it to both feet on the ground because it hurt so bad! BUT it was great!!! I was so beat I had to skip the bonus round but next time I will try it and i will BRING IT!!
Today I woke up early at 6 and did my shoulders and Arms DVD OH BOY it was intense soo glad I got the 8 and 10lb weights yesterday because I used them depending on the exercise I use either a 5lb, 8lb or 10lb. The only exercise I had to change completely was the last one the Side Tri Raises this one you lay on your left side and put you right hand right by your body next to your peck and then you left arm on your shoulder and raise on the planted arms and work the triceps then switch to the other side, I failed at this couldn't do it with out wiggling and wasn't using my triceps soo I did a triceps extension behind the head instead to still workout with them. Here is a pic so the position makes sense.
You can see what I mean to keep your feet from not moving and only isolating the triceps it was hard. I don't have enough strength in my core to stay still.
Finally on Sat and with today's workout I am also supposed to combine AB Ripper X I did on Sat. and it was HARD I couldn't do some of the exercises to the standard 25 reps but I did my best and will try harder today. I didn't have time this morning to fit it in but I will do it tonight When I get off work!!
I feel I have had a great start to the program and cant wait to see some results!!
